Minor League Scoreboard - Games of 7/18

Scranton 3 Indianapolis

Scranton trailed 2-1 in the top of the 9, but newly signed Erubiel Durazo lead off with a walk and moved to 2nd on a ground out. Andy Cannizaro followed with a single to tie the game, and came home with the go ahead run on Eric Duncan's double. Steven White threw a very effective start, allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. Sean Henn won his 1st game, while Jim Brower notched his 18th save.


Trenton 5 Binghamton 1

Phil Hughes had a very effective 4 inning rehab start and Jason Jones was equally effective in picking up the win. The two combined on a 3-hitter. Matt Carson slugged his 11th HR of the season.


Tampa 3 Jupiter 0

Kevin Whelan (5 IP), David Robertson (2 IP), and Joshua Schmidt (2 IP) combined on a no-hitter.

Charleston 4 Kannapolis 2

The River Dogs benefited from some sloppy play by the Intimidators, as all 4 runs were unearned. Brady Martinez picked up the win with a couple of innings in relief, and Jon Hovis earned his 22nd save.


Mahoning Valley 7 Staten Island 5

Tough night for the Baby Bombers pitching, but Justin Snyder continued to rake. His 3 hits raised his average to .391 and included his 4th home run of the season.


GCL Yankees 2 GCL Braves 1

Abraham Almonte had 2 hits, an RBI, and a run scored and Jairo Heredia threw an outstanding 5 innings. Heredia allowed 2 hits and struck out 8, but didn't figure in the decision. Brandon Thompson threw 2 scoreless innings of relief for the win.
