Mustache Still Trails

The Yankees gave out mustaches to a packed house at the Stadium yesterday, but barring a last hour surge, it doesn't appear Jason Giambi will make the All-Star team.

As of this morning, Evan Longoria of the Rays and the White Sox Jermaine Dye were ahead of Giambi in a tight race for the "Final Vote".

Mike Mussina is backing the G though.

Yankees vs. Rays - July 9

Holy Cow White, we thought it was a night game. In fact the Yankees and mustaches take on the Rays this afternoon at 1:05 at the Stadium. Sidney Ponson (this could get really ugly) goes against the Rays Edwin Jackson.

Snidely Whiplash Night

The Yankees are going to the mat tonight for Jason Giambi's mustache. Yes, it's "Mustache Night Day" at the Stadium. The first 18,000 fans will get a free fake mustache. Even the American Mustache Institute fully backs the Giambi 'stache for the All-Star game. No truth to the rumor though that Giambi will be starring in a new version of Magnum, P.I..

Peter Abraham reports that Giambi said he would enter the home run derby if elected, and might ask Willie Randolph to pitch to him, just as he did when he won in 2002. Pete also provided this great photo of Kim Jones ala Mustache.
