The Odd Couple
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that billionaire philanthropist Warren Buffett was the little voice in A-Rod's ear that said, "go talk to the Yankees without Scott Boras". The two had become unlikely friends a number of years ago.
On Buffett's advice, A-Rod spoke with an acquaintance Goldman Sach exec John Mallory. Mallory in turn spoke to colleague Gerald Cardinale, a former Yankees and YES network employee.
