A Minor League Tragedy
It's one of those things you can't imagine happening, and just reading about it makes me cringe. Mike Coolbaugh was in the prime of his life. 35-years old, married, 2 kids, and another due in October. He had a cup of coffee in the majors, as did his brother Scott. He was now working with the Tulsa Drillers as their 1st Base Coach. That was until yesterday when he tragically died on the field.
Coolbaugh was struck with a line drive in head and fell to the ground. All attempts to resuscitate him failed. He was pronounced dead at 9:47 p.m.
Our condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends.
