Yankees Acquire Jose Molina
The Yankees made a move tonight to improve their backup catcher situation. YES announced that the Yankees acquired Angels catcher Jose Molina for minor league pitcher Jeff Kennard.
Molina, in his 8th season in the majors, started in the Angels game tonight, against Minnesota, before being removed for a pinch-hitter.
Kennard is in his 7th season in the Yankees organization and is currently at Trenton. The soon to be 26 year old has struggled with control issues in his career.
