Yankees Ready to Throw Big $$ at A.J.
The NY Post is reporting that the Yankees are preparing a 5-year, $80 million offer for free agent pitcher A.J. Burnett. The right-hander opted out of his 5-year, $55 million deal with Blue Jays after three seasons.
Burnett won a career high 18 games this season, and was particularly impressive when he faced the Bombers. He's been injury prone through out his career, which began with the Florida Marlins, and has had his intestinal fortitude questioned by Blue Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi.
