Jeter Gets Number 2500
It will be a line drive in the paper, but Derek Jeter just blooped his way to hit number 2,500. He became the 88th player in MLB history by hitting a pop up behind second base. Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts, running with his back to the infield, had the ball glance off his glove for a single.

Too bad the the Captain's historical hit and the two pairs of back-to-back homers couldn't secure the 17th win for my favorite pitcher.
