Minor League Recap - 4/11
Shelley Duncan took out his demotion on the Louisville Bats last night. Duncan, who was sent down, on Wednesday to make room for Alberto Gonzalez on the Yankees, had 4 hits, including a home run and 3 doubles, in Scranton's 11-5 win. Chris Britton picked up his 2nd win, as he, Edwar Ramirez, and Jon Albaladejo combined for 5 scoreless innings of relief. The three have not allowed an earned run this season. Jason Lane also hit his 4th home run.
There was bad news too though- starter Alan Horne left the game with a bicep injury and will be sent for an MRI.
The Trenton Thunder lost 3-1 to the Harrisburg Senators despite a good pitching effort from starter Dan McCutchen. Jose Tabata was 1-3 and has gone 6-14 over his last 4 games. Austin Jackson is 5-14 over his last 3 games to raise his average up to .233.
The Dunedin Blue Jays outscored the Tampa Yankees 7-5. A bad night for Mark Melancon who allowed 4 runs in 1 inning of relief. He's now allowed 6 earned runs in 4.2 innings.
The Charleston River Dogs completed a 4-game sweep of the Savannah Sand Gnats with a 7-4 win last night. Rutgers product David Williams belted a grand slam and stole 2 bases.
