Pedroia Breaks Up Lackey No-No
The Los Angeles Angels already had a tremendous day going, having acquired Mark Teixeira earlier today. Tonight, pitcher John Lackey nearly made history in attempt to no-hit the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Lackey entered the 9th inning having allowed just one walk through 8 innings. He struck out Jacoby Ellsbury to start the 9th, but Dustin Pedroia ripped a single through the left side to break up the no-hitter. Kevin Youkilis then ended Lackey's shutout bid with a 2-run home run.
