It may not be the most scientific approach to setting up a pitching rotation, but the Yankees literally flipped a coin to determine who would start the exhibition opener against the
University of South Florida on Friday.
Joba Chamberlain won the
Yankees' version of the
Oscar and will get the starting assignment. Fans in attendance will get a rare treat- the chance to see Joba,
Ian Kennedy, and
Phil Hughes all pitch in the same game.

The game, which will not be televised, affords a unique opportunity for
Tino Martinez. The Bamtino is in his first season as a spring training instructor for the Yankees, and is in his second season as volunteer assistant coach for the the university. Tino's brother in-law,
Lelo Prado is the head coach at USF.
