Yankees, Pads Talk Peavy

Buster Olney is reporting that the Yankees and Padres briefly discussed a deal that would sent Phil Hughes and Melky Cabrera to the Padres in return for Jake Peavy. We don't like the idea of trading Hughes for a Miguel Cabrera, but to bring back an established ace like Jake Peavy is another matter. Peavy is still 2 years from free agency so nothing is likely to happen until after the '08 season.
